Guide and hunter walking through East Texas brush at golden hour

YOUR FIRST GUIDED HOG HUNT

What to expect, what to bring, and how a guide helps first-time hog hunters prepare for the East Texas brush.

A guided hog hunt is a strong choice for a first hunting trip because the experience can be tailored to your comfort level. At Boggy Creek, we start by learning your preferred dates, group size, and whether you want to hunt with a rifle, bow, crossbow, or trained hog dogs.

You can bring familiar equipment or ask about on-site rentals. Before entering the field, your guide covers safe handling, ranch boundaries, animal behavior, and the method planned for your hunt. That walkthrough makes the experience more comfortable without taking away its challenge.

After a shot, guides assist with tracking and confirming the harvest. Cleaning, skinning, and quartering are also available for an additional fee, helping you head home with properly packed meat in your coolers.
